We started manufacturing jerseys in 2013 when we couldn't find a cool, vintage inspired high quality jersey on the market in the USA. So I decided to make them myself. Our jerseys are manufactured here in America and our fabric is knit on vintage knitting machines, most of which left the U.S. decades ago when almost all apparel manufacturing went off shore. We are not buying blanks (plain shirts with nothing on them, usually cheap and made for mass production for silkscreening.)
After our fabric is knit, it's then washed for shrinkage and sewn into my patterns. A stripe in a Hometown Jersey is not just a random stripe. It's knit into our fabric to our exact specification. Everything about each design is intentional. The custom felt designs are all one of a kind and stitched with a sewing machine.
This is not fast fashion, which is polluting the world and beaches in other countries, but it's slow fashion that will last a lifetime. Our favorite clothes are pieces that have been around for decades, like my grandfathers favorite sweater.
So whether you choose a Hometown Jersey with nothing additional on it or with your own custom felt design, enjoy it for many years and then pass it down. Your kids will be proud to wear it one day.
